Chaque geste compte - TRUFFE DÉLICE

Every gesture counts

Trufflement responsible

Before starting our business, we knew that certain actions could contribute to the degradation of the planet, particularly through the massive production of waste due to packaging. It was out of the question for us to be complicit in this, so we researched all the environmentally friendly packaging options available. That's how we decided to sell treats wrapped in recyclable kraft paper.

Over 95% of our products are packaged in kraft paper and approximately 2% in glass and bamboo. This approach aims to reduce our carbon footprint and encourages the virtuous cycle of recycling.

Furthermore, we opted for a thermal printer. This process uses heat to darken the heat-sensitive paper, ensuring clear and durable prints without the use of ink, thus reducing our environmental impact.

Finally, to seal your packages, we use kraft tape and we reuse our manufacturers' cartons as much as possible to ship your orders, minimizing our carbon footprint.

Greenspark Partnership

Greenspark offsets our CO2 emissions related to our order shipments through concrete actions. Since we joined their initiative, they have planted 135 trees and collected 780 pieces of waste on our behalf.

Together, let's reduce plastic.

As useful as plastic is, our consumption is far too high and the waste is not managed properly. Less than 10% of plastic is recycled, making it one of the most widespread pollutants on the planet. Plastic waste is invading the oceans and land, and is increasingly present in food in the form of nanoparticles.

Therefore, we believe that the use of plastic should be limited to situations where no other alternative is available. Unfortunately, this is not the case for most shipping materials, which contain plastic, non-biodegradable materials, or non-recyclable materials. Most industries continue to consume unnecessary plastics, such as bubble wrap or plastic tape, even though many other options exist. Through complacency or ignorance, these companies contribute to the long-term pollution of the planet.

Every little helps!

Truffe Délice isn't a large company, yet we ship many packages and use various materials to package our treats. Even at this scale, it's important that these materials are biodegradable or recyclable; by each of us doing our part, we can help protect our planet.

You can even work for the planet from home, with daily actions such as sorting your waste, buying from French manufacturing companies, consuming locally…

Daily actions you can implement:

  • Reusing packaging: The materials we use are environmentally friendly. However, their production requires raw materials and energy. Therefore, the more you reuse them, the smaller the environmental impact will be. Here are a few ideas for reusing packaging materials: Kraft paper or recycled cardboard is ideal for drawing. It can also serve as a protective surface for messy painting projects. You can use it to collect your vegetable peelings, for example, before taking them to the compost. And finally, you can reuse it to send your own packages.
  • Recycle: sort your waste whenever possible. This way, the materials can be reused in new products.
  • Choose responsible companies: for a business, switching to sustainable materials isn't complicated; it simply requires awareness and a little research. So, combine quality and eco-responsibility as soon as possible. Of course, some products can't be made entirely from sustainable materials, but if a company does its best to be as responsible as possible, that's already a step forward for the planet.
